It's an honor, there were some really awesome projects.
Megan even gave out this fun Snow Family Digi

Sweet Pea Gift

It's time for another
We want you to make a gift!

I love receiving gift cards and I enjoy giving
them as well. And this year I wanted to make something
to put them in. I found this really easy gift card holder tutorial
on YouTube. You can see it here.
I am all about quick and easy and this is super easy.

It's basically a folder to put your gift card inside.
There are two pockets, one for the tag and one for the gift card.
And you can decorate the outside.
I used this super cute Christmas image from
Seasons of Fantasy Plate 23.
Can't wait to see your creations!

Twisted Christmas

Well it's just 12 days till Christmas and are you ready yet?
No, me either. I still have to mail out some packages, finish
up more cards and buy a few last gifts.
But I really wanted to play along with
I missed the first challenge just not enough days in
the week. But I finally finished this one to play along
with the Twisted Christmas theme.
I just love this little Zombie Christmas Elf.

I used the current sketch at deconstructing Jen.
I just love her sketches!

Happy Crafting!

Hooray for Santa Claus!

It's time for another fun Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge
and this time its Alternative Christmas films.

One of my favorite Christmas movies is this
quirky little movie about martians that kidnap
Santa Claus. Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is the name.
I remember watching this movie as a kid
and thinking wow this is really weird.
The acting is bad the props are bad but it's a fun 60's movie.
And the best thing about the movie for me
is the song Hooray for Santa Claus.
If you have never heard it before listen to it

I used this cute little martian from Tiddly Inks,
he's called Come in Cuteness.
I added the text and the Santa hat.
Can't wait to see your creations.

Happy Birthday Sylvia!

Last Wednesday was my Sister Neighbor's Birthday!
Yes, Sister Neighbor, her family has lived next door to my
Grandmother for 40+ years. She was my very first friend.

So today I am sharing the card I made for her.
Sylvia has been baking cupcakes lately,
so I thought Cheery Q from Tiddly Inks was
perfect for her card.

I am also entering this into

Dystopian Films

This week at Beyond The Burtonesque Doll
we are doing Dystopian Films
Dysto..what?
dystopia (from the Greek δυσ- and τόπος, alternatively, cacotopia,[1] kakotopiacackotopia, or anti-utopia) is the vision of a society that is the opposite of utopia. A dystopian society is often a planned structured society in which the conditions of life are deliberately made miserable, characterized by poverty, oppression, violence, disease, scarcity, and/or pollution for the benefit of a select minority or some unnatural societal goal.
Sounds simple when it's put like that lol!
Let me tell you there are loads of Dystopian Films for you to choose
from, so many in fact you'll be spoilt for choice.
You've got two weeks to play along with our challenge.
Be sure to check out all the wonderful
DT samples, they are awesome!

I chose on of my Husband favorite films
V for Vendetta.

The V logo was printed from the internet and
my Guy Fawkes image is
Draco the ghost gent from Simply Betty Stamps.

I Love and miss you all. :(

Anyway onto the card.

and shell.

Dark and not so Creepy!

This week at Forever Night Challenges
we challenge you to create a project that is evil dark & creepy.
It can be any type of project!  So you are not limited to paper crafts.

I have been wanting to make a envelope corner book mark
for some time and finally made one for this project.
The image I used is really not Evil or Creepy but
I just had to use it. It's called Gargoyles of Notre Dame by
Jasmine Becket-Griffith for Crafts and Me stamps.

I kept it super simple. Just some Copic coloring
and background sponging.

This little beauty is going to keep my place in the book
I am currently reading, Game of Thrones.
Can't wait to see your Creepy creations!

It's time for another fun challenge at Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge

I could not resist using my FAVORITE Scary Kids

I made something other than a card, it's a small canvas.
I even pulled out the crackle paint for this one.

But until then we have a fun challenge this week
Scary Halloween!!!

Now I don't find any of Sweet Pea Stamps to be really scary
and that is good because I really perfer
fun Halloween.

I used Wicked Moon by Katerina Koukiotis

Time Bandit!

This week at Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls
We are celebrating the Art and Works of
Terry Gilliam.
Terry Gilliam, is a wonderful Artist/Animator, Actor, and Director.
I'm sure many of you will know him from the Monty Python team,
but since then he's directed some of the most fantastical fantasy films ever made.
The Challenge is to Create a Card/Project based on any of Terry Gilliam's Work.

The Design Team has come up with some wonderfully
Fun creations, so be sure to check them all out.
To be honest with you I personally am not too familiar
with his work. I have only seen Time Bandits, way back
in the 80's. I remember it being a fun crazy movie.
So I was inspired to make a Time Bandit.

For my Time Bandit I used Steampunk Boy by The Octopode
Factory and the clock is from Smeared Ink.

Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls

Welcome to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls.  If you love the work of Tim Burton, and enjoyed the challenges over at The Burtonesque Dolls then you'll like it here.  All the forthcoming challenges will have a 'Burtonesque' feel to them, although they may have no direct link to the works of Tim Burton.  The whole idea of this blog is to widen the challenges, maybe introduce you to films, books and directors that you've not heard of before. It's all about fun, maybe a little quirky and twisted fun, but still fun.

For our first challenge we have chosen a very broad theme;

'Halloween' we want you to create a card/project inspired by your favourite Halloween film, book or memory.

You can use images from any company you wish, and you can create a digital project if you wish,
it's all for fun, so no limitations,
just make sure you respect the copyright of the artists out there.

Don't forget to tell us what inspired your creation,
that's all part of the fun.
My creation was inspired by a Halloween childhood memory.
Every year my mom would put a paper skeleton on our front door
and I was really scared of him at night. I told my mom
that I could hear him talking to me.
I was afraid he would come and get me. That skeleton
started my love for anything fun and cute Halloween
but nothing too scary.

Here he is...
The skeleton is from an awesome Tim Holtz set by
Stampers Anonymous. Retro Halloween.

Can't wait to see your scary or not so scary creations.

Blast from the Past with Kraftin' Kimmie

Hello Blogland!
Today I am playing along with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
Blast from the Past Challenge.
The Challenge is to use your very first Kraftin' Kimmie stamp.
My very first KK stamp was of course a Halloween stamp.
About a year ago I found KK stamps and was immediately drawn to
Artist Annie Rodrigue's fun Moonlight Whispers collection.
My very first purchase was the whole Halloween collection
and Zelda the Zombie is one of my favorites within
the collection. So here she is....

I colored Zelda with Prismacolor pencils on Kraft paper
using a technique I found on Angela's Blog but I think
I need some more practice. It was fun and I wanted to
try something new. Thanks for looking!
