Beauty

I'm back with another Tiddly Inks Steampunk Challenge.
This time I am using Mermaid Miranda.
She is just awesome!

The card turned out so-so, but I love the coloring.
I went with some brighter darker Copic colors and I really
like how it came out. (BG49 Hair, YG09, YG07, YG05 Tail)
Here is a closer look.
Have a great weekend!

Steampunk Challenge

So it's down to the wire again on a challenge, LOL!
I was sooo excited to see and get the
New Tiddly Inks Steampunk Images
and really did not want to miss out on the Steampunk Challenge,
but it's been a busy couple of weeks. I am sure many of you can relate,
we just don't get enough play time and sometimes
I am just to tired. There are sooo many wonderful challenge blogs
that I want to play with. So anyway,
I have had this colored for about a week
now and finally got it finished today.

Ta-Da!
 I just love this image!

The quote says "Sweet dreams and flying machines
in pieces on the ground"- James Taylor
Ahhh this reminds me of childhood. Opps showing my age.
I'm working on another card for this challenge as well
hopefully I will get it done tonight.

It's Wicked Wednesday at Forever Night Challenges
and today we are sponsored by Polly Craft.
Our challenge this week is Your So Emo.
I got to play with Cherry Kisses- Attitude,
isn't she cute? And you can get her Here.

I colored her with my Copics and used
some Bo Bunny Press paper in
Spooktastic Grim Dots.
I just love making ATC's they are fun and easy to make.
Looking forward to seeing your Wicked Wednesday Creation.

Kidnap The Sandy Claws

It's time for a Musical Interlude at The Burtonesque Dolls,
create a card inspired by any Nightmare Before Christmas Song!
Make sure to put a part of the lyric as your sentiment.

Well I could not resist making a Lock, Shock and Barrel
card. The three mischievous Trick or Treaters
are so much fun. So I just had to go with Kidnap The Sandy Claws.
I guess you all know who will be on Santa's naughty list this year.
NO not me!

The Trick or Treaters and house are from The Octopode Factory
and the Twisted Tree is from Tiddly Inks.

If you happen to see these three on Halloween,
turn and go the other way. HEE HEE

Forever Night Mini Dark Art Monday

Welcome to Forever Night Challenges
For those who enjoy the dark side of crafting.
We create challenges with an dark edgy theme in mind.
Such as Emo, Gothic, Steam punk and punk
Just keep in mind that cute is fine, but the darker the better.
This is not your average paper craft blog!
And today is our first Mini Dark Art Monday Challenge.
Skull-tastick Challenge #1
~ Create a mini art project with skulls in mind~
You can make any of the following or something never thought of.
  • Tag
  • atc card
  • moo card
  • inchies, twinchies, thrinchies, etc
  • mini card
  • bottle caps
  • paper clips
I am sure you get the idea!
I made a ATC using Bombshell Stamps Sugar Skulls
and Sacred Hearts. I even made a Shrink Art Skull.

I really love making Mini Art,
it seems to take the pressure off having to make
another card.
Can't wait to see what you create.

Yes, the day is here and the New Potter images

MEEE -OW!

It's day 5 of the SBS Potter Previews
and today we have
MCGONAGALL!
I couldn't resist using another fun Zombie Teens Sentiment,
this time it's MEE-OW!

I also used more of that Cloud Nine Design Paper
this time it's Witches Brew Boil and Bubble.
This paper was from Michaels, but last time I saw it,
it was in the clearance isle. I only bought a few sheets
and wish I had bought more.
This is a great image for all the cat lover's out there.
I know a few people who will love it!
Including me!
See you tomorrow for our finale!

Ron in Burtonland!

Today we are previewing Ron... but wait not just previewing but challenging you to create your own Potterish character and place that character in any Burton movie... basically the Potters using the Floo network and ended up in Burtonland!  It does not have to be Ron either it can be any character, any image that may resemble any Potter of course and put them in Burtonland!

You have until July 25th at 10pm PST to upload your Potters in Burtonland projects... one lucky winner will get to pick three of the new Potter Digis all for their creating pleasure!

I of course had to put Ron in my Favorite Movie
so here is my project. Ron has landed in Halloween Town
and seems a little peeved. LOL!

Come back tomorrow and to see the next preview.

New Release

Summer time means New Movies and with
the HP movie coming up soon,
had to release a line of HP images!
And we Burtonesque Dolls get to be part of that
release! So here is day one with the QUEEN
of the HP universe.
HERMOINE

Isn't she adorable! I can imagine her with all
kinds of fun sentiments.
I have to be honest and tell you that I have only seen
the first Potter film and did not
even finish the first book. I really wanted to like the
story but it just did not grab my attention. :(

Anyway I am going to give it another go and
watch the movies. Come back tomorrow
for day 2 preview.

One of my Favorite images

One of my favorite images is this stunning
Pearl Swirl Mermaid by Jasmine Becket-Griffith for
Crafts and Me Stamps.
When I first saw this image colored up
by the very talented Angela a few months back,
I knew I just had to have it.

I just loved the colors that Angela used so
I had to try my hand at an imitation.
I kept the card really simple,
just a few layers of paper.
And I actually made the turqouise background
paper, using various colors of acrylic paint
on water color paper. A technique my mom taught me.
So here she is....

And here is a closer look.

Isn't this just an amazing image?
So of course I am playing along with
Crafts and Me Challenge blog
Favorite Image.
Thanks for looking and all the nice comments
they really make my day!

Angel Wings

We have an fantastic challenge for all you
Sweet Pea Stampers this week.
We want to see WINGS on your projects!

This week we are sponsored by the amazing
Sweet Pea Stamps
The prize this week is 3 count grab bag of rubber stamps.

I chose to use Meredith Dillman's Broken Angel.
I kept the card pretty simple
to showcase the beautiful image.

I colored her with my Copics, I also used a
Sakura Gelly Roll pen in Clear Star
to add some sparkle to her hair
and wings, but it does not show up
in my pictures.

There are so many AMAZING winged SPS images
so this is a pretty easy challenge, but it
may be hard to pick just one image.
I can't wait to see what you create!
